Description of Original Problem: I have a 6700 from XFX. I contacted their support back in May and told them the issue I have been having:
While in game screens will go black and game will freeze. All of processes still work when this happens, I can hear discord, spotify, browsers, and windows notification sounds. Only fix it to force shutdown PC. After powering on GPU is disabled in Device manager and when enabling it, it will work then crash again. Only way to fix is to completely uninstall all drivers, restart, then install drivers. This works momentarily and then it happens again.
Troubleshooting: They responded to use DDU and then install drivers 23.8.1. That did fix the issues, but every time a new version comes out I try it out and continue to have the same issue.
I don't mind having to stay on the now year old drivers, but I get games notifying me I should update drivers and I'm sure there's stuff I'm missing out on being a year out of date. Like hopefully better mic noise suppression.
Does anyone have any idea on why this could be happening with every update after 23.8.1.
