What should I do?

I am currently 20 years old and just done my leaving cert last year, I am torn as to what to pursue next and have no idea who I should be listening to. I have narrowed it down to 2 careers. I got enough points in my leaving cert to go and do secondary school teaching for practical subjects which is what most people are telling me to go and do, but I also had in mind a carpentry apprenticeship which I feel I would really enjoy as I loved woodwork in school and was quiet good at it and I feel like there is very little career progression as a teacher. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
