just another trip advice request!
Hello fellow redditors,
I'm from italy and I'm going to be in Brazil the last two weeks of august. Planning a trip in this country is not easy, balacing between a stressful plane hopping to see as many places as possible and stay in just one specific area.
So I'm here looking for some help!
The thing I won't compromise is staying in Rio for a few days, but I'm having a hard time figuring the rest of the trip. The general plan for now would be:
landing in Brasilia
visit chapada dos veadeiros for 3-4 days
taking a flight to sao paulo and stay there a couple of days
rent a car and go to Rio with a few stops like Paraty, maybe ilha grande.
drop the car in Rio, stay there a few days and then back to italy with a very easy and confortable direct flight.
Now what is your opinion on a tour like this one? Do you think that chapada dos viaderos would be a bad idea in august? Because of the fires and because maybe is not as beautiful. I read a couple of blogs/website and they say the waterfall might disappear and the vegetation turn brownish. They say it'is still beatiful but I don't get if it's still worth it.
What about ilha grande in august? Would you have other recomendations on the road from sao paulo to rio?
Alternatives:
land in Rio, rent a car and do ouro preto, sao paulo and back to riowith stops in between but I really don't which stops are worth a visit
or
land in Rio rent a car and visit the area between Rio and Sao Paulo
or I'm open to your ideas!
