A Question on Christian Moral Philosophy.
I want to start by saying that I am not a Christian, though I was raised in close proximity to Anglicanism thanks to my school and I have no animosity for people who do believe. What I am is someone with an interest in different faiths and frameworks for understanding morality, and I think that by seeking out those frameworks I can grow in understanding of the world and it's people, and ultimately lead a better life. That's why I'm here to ask this particular question. While I'm sure I'm not the first person to think of this by any means I've never heard it specifically asked or answered, especially not by a group of people with potentially differing viewpoints. If someone else has already asked this here feel free to point me to that post and delete this one, but if not:
The simplest way I can think to put my question is thus:
Does God Know what is right and wrong or does he Decide what is right and wrong?
Could God, hypothetically, change what is right to include something we currently consider very wrong, or exclude something we consider morally good at the moment. Is there any reason he would do that?
I'm interested to see what people's thoughts and explanations are here. I wanna again emphasize that I don't mean any disrespect and I'm asking out of a genuine desire to know what people think. Thanks for your time.
