SMAS and Nutcracker Syndrome - PLEASE CHIME IN IF YOU HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH THIS!

I have been having stomach issues for about a year maybe a little bit longer

I recently just got a CT scan and the radiologist believes that I have both SMA syndrome and Nutcracker syndrome. I am a female, 5'7 and 20 yrs old. I originally weighed 130 lbs. I had horrible symptoms even before I lost weight—nausea, bloating, abdominal pain, weight loss, trouble keeping weight on, etc. My symptoms vary from day to day, some days are fine, and some days are excruciating. I lost 20 lbs at the beginning of 2023 and have since gained around 15 lbs back but my symptoms are still horrible. My GI essentially told me to try to eat as much as possible and gain some weight back.

I have a gastric emptying test and endoscopy scheduled. The GI is unwilling to refer me to a surgeon unless I gain more weight and all other tests come back indicating that I have an obstruction, which is valid to some extent, but eating hurts!

My GI said eating more "is a far better option than having major surgery which could possibly leave you with lifelong ongoing stomach symptoms." BUT WHAT ARE THE LIFELONG STOMACH SYMPTOMS???? ISN'T THE SURGERY SUPPOSED TO HELP????

As far as Nutcracker Syndrome goes my CT scan is getting sent to a vascular specialist. They may or may not order more CT scans of my vascular system based on their findings.

Questions:

What are the easiest foods to eat that helped you gain weight? Any drinks that may work?

How is life after surgery? Does it get better? Would surgery really leave me with lifelong stomach issues?

If you have been diagnosed with this or had surgery for SMA what was the angle of your SMA and AA?
