Dan’s take on the future of sports

I’m confused about how sports leagues are supposed to generate revenue if people stop watching games.

I can understand that in game revenue is not critical. But the big money is in the television and streaming contracts. And those contracts are based on the amount of people watching and therefore the price advertisers or streaming subscribers are willing to pay.

If people stop watching live games does Dan think TikTok highlight reel revenue will be enough to keep the huge salaries flowing? I’m genuinely asking, what am I missing or misunderstanding about what Dan is saying?
