Help in setting up a virtual workstation
Hello community,
I am interested in splitting my PC into two smaller workstations and decided to ask the more experimented people about how to do this correctly.
Basically I have a PC with RTX 4060ti, i7 13700k, 64GB RAM, 750W PSU on a Gigabyte B760M. I would like to somehow setup this PC to work as two separate PCs, each with 32GB RAM, each with half of the CPU, each with one 4060ti. I already got a few SSDs to separate everything.
I do video editing, and tried working today with half the cores of my CPU and it works great. So instead of investing in a separate build for my wife, I would just put in another 4060ti into the build (which I already have bought, i have two) and we would be good to go for editing our videos. The thing is that I don't really get it from youtube how I should proceed doing this and what involves to achieve my goal.
I think I want to use Hyper V from windows, creating onto my OS the virtual machine and passing through either the iGPU or the second RTX card (I would like to pass the iGPU tho, if possible) But can I use another display + mouse + keyboard only on that VM without affecting my main OS? Like extending displays and on the second one to have the VM and the second pair of mouse and keyboard only to work on the VM? Basically two persons to work at the same time?
I am very confused about this and I hope somebody could clear my view a bit, thank you a lot!
