Samsung Viewfinity S9 crashes my MayBook Pro when it goes to sleep
Hello guys,
first post here, I hope I did everything correctly. I got myself the new Samsung Viewfinity S9 monitor as an alternative to the studio display from apple.
My only problem with it is, that it keeps crashing my MacBookPro once it goes to sleep.
I managed to scrape a crashlog and post it here.
(sry not pastebin, since pastebin keeps deleting the crashlog... idk why...)
I am not that good at interpreting the code. Maybe some of you can tell me whats wrong with this?
My MBP is an Apple M1 Pro form 2021 with MacOS 13.6 (22G120)
For me the crashing is the biggest problem, but not the only one. I also have had some more issues with this monitor:
- The monitor has problem waking the MBP up. Sometimes I need to get the MBP out of its stand (it is stores in smth like this) open it up, sign in, reconnect the plug, close it and put it back in the stand
- Sometimes the monitor is not connecting at all. Restarting both devices does not help either. The only way to fix this, is to unplug the monitor from the wall, wait 30 secs and plug it back in. So only a "hard reset" lets it work probably again.
I am not sure, if I regret my purchase yet. I thought Samsung was targeting Apple users with this display and now the display seems to work horribly bad with the MacBook. I am also thinking about writing the Samsung support but I first wanted to check if it is only me and that I didn't do something wrong here.
