Service uplift when metro tunnel opens

It amazes me that Sydney who just opened their metro has the longest wait time in off peak at just 10 minutes. Most lines in Melbourne barely get a 10 minute peak service. I really hope we aren’t let down when the metro tunnel opens and the timetable is redone. At a minimum most lines should have 10-15 minute off peak, the infrastructure is there, only a few lines now have single track, yet we haven’t seen a substantial off peak service lift in decades.
