Are some theories just intentional trolling to throw us off?
I've been thinking about how hard it is to have a show with any mystery these days. Someone always figures it out and posts about it immediately right?
So an obvious solution would be to hire a bunch of people to post the most ridiculous theories just to confuse everyone.
Because seriously, some people think episode 4 was a VR simulation? Not just that it was indoors, but that Lumon has the tech to control people’s entire perception of reality. Basically, full-on Matrix level stuff? And yet, they’ve only used it for icy retreats while still using crappy CRT TVs?
If they could actually control perception like that, the whole show would make no sense and would be completely different.
Mark doesn’t want to work without the team? Simulate them.
Don’t want departments communicating? Make them invisible to each other instead of fabricating past conflicts.
Helly wants to leave? Make her think she’s outside.
Dylan wants to meet his kid? Simulate him.
If fact why even have an office? Why bother with waffle parties or a perpetuity wing? Why even have a building? Just stick them in pods, plug them into the Matrix, and run everything in VR.
I've been in a lot of show subreddits trying to solve mysteries, but I've never seen so many absurd theories gain this much traction.
