If Lisa was a Christian before becoming a Buddhist, why didn't she believe in angels?

In "Lisa the Skeptic" (season 9), she denies the existence of angels and treats them as if they were mythological creatures. However, it wasn't until "She of Little Faith" (season 13) that she changed her religion.
