Grandma Fern's "The One"

So, you know you're obsessed with a show when you dream about it and wake up with new theories. ;)

Last night's "epiphany" was that in earlier days Grandma Fern time traveled back to the 1800s and discovered a Landry boy who had traveled to the past and stayed. Maybe she wasn't able to find out the year he came from or if he had a different name before he time traveled. Or maybe she didn't find out his name.

This could be why she feared that her son was that child, i.e., The One. And then when her son grew older than the boy from the past, she transferred that fear to his sons, Colton and Samuel. This is why she told Colton he couldn't go into the pond until he was an adult.

I think Colton was almost the one when he and Evie fell in the pond when he was nine and the vines wrapped around his leg. He was the right age. But Kat unwrapped his leg and prevented him from time traveling.

Then when Colton and his brother grew older than the boy, Fern knew it wasn't them either. The possibility then moved onto Colton's son, Jacob, who didn't stay out of the pond despite Colton's warnings.

From that brief clip we see, it doesn't look like Grandma Fern explained why young Colton couldn't go in the pond, so Colton wouldn't have explained it to Jacob either. But we don't really know.

Could this be it?
