The opposite of twist villains: characters that seem evil at first but are actually trying to help/are good people

1: korosensei (assassination classroom): at first he is shown as this monster that blew up the moon and is going to do the same to earth, but later it is revealed that he was a subject of experiments with antimatter and is sadly going to inevitably blow up, destroying earth.

2: stranger (omori): he lures Sunny/omori, the protagonist, into unsettling places and situations involving “something”, which is the embodiment of the protagonists trauma, and even looks like an extension of said “something”, but you eventually learn he is trying to make the protagonist face said trauma and get his life together by doing so

3: homura (madoka magica): seems aggressive at first and really tries hard to stop madoka, the protagonist, into making a deal with kyubey, which at first, said deal looks like a good thing. But then, kyubey is revealed as the villain of the story, and you learn about the whole time travel thing going on with homura to try and keep madoka alive, and now the whole “stopping madoka from making the deal with kyubey” as well as her demeanor looks much more reasonable
