Beginner guide/tips?

I just got Town of Salem 2 and I've played 3 games and not really known what's going on. The beginner gamemode had no players so I played a more complex one and people were using all kinds of abbreviations I didn't understand and on my third game I was a coven member and said I was a bodyguard when they put me on trial and then got ridiculed for claiming a different role😭😭😭
