At What Age Did You Start Having a Go-Bag

I recently found out many people, especially women, have go bags. Some have started packing them at pretty young ages.

What did you start packing a go bag? Was it practical or silly, like things only a kid would pack?

I was 8. Indepence Day is what started it for me. I wanted to have a backpack with my most treasures and favorite things as well as first aid, snacks, drinks, clothes. I would pack one a couple days before the 4th just in case aliens attacked and I had to make a run for it.

Then not too many months after I actually had to put this to use in my own life for real. Let's just say a Jack Torrence without the snow and ghosts situation happened.

I learned and practiced escapes out each possible exit from where we were staying. Packing my go bag so I could easily maneuver and be able to hold a pet and baby.

My go bag is rarely packed these days. I did get a cat carrier backpack so I can toss my cat and anything we absolutely need in it's pockets or in with her if need be.
