Opinions on Peljidiin Genden, the man who slapped Stalin.
He was a prominent leader in socialist Mongolia during the 1930s. Genden famously clashed with Stalin, reportedly slapping him and calling him a "new tsar" during a heated meeting. This act of defiance led to his downfall. He was removed from power in 1936, arrested, and later executed in 1937. Following his removal, Khorloogiin Choibalsan, a staunch Stalin loyalist, took control of Mongolia.
