How do lances work when pursuing?

So me and my buddies are split on how this is suppose to work. Lances can be used as long as you've charged. If you did not charge OR if it is a subsequent turn you must use hand weapons. So if you win combat and pursue your enemy you count as having charged (according to the "catch the curs!" Rule) so then do you get to use lances? I'm of the opinion that no you can not use a lance after pursuing because it is a subsequent turn, and so you must use hand weapons. But some of my friends are saying that because it counts as a charge you should be able to use the lance. The FAQ says in response to if you can change weapons after FBIGO or giving ground that it counts and one combat and that you cannot switch weapons except I the case of switching to hand weapons after using a lance, which I feel supports my intereptation. What do people think of this? Am I right in believing you can't use lances after pursuing an enemey that FBIGO?
