Beard Oil?

How do you guys go about using beard oil? I have used it, off and on, a lot of times in the past. I just started up again but one thing I noticed is that, the oil stays on for very long. Do you guys leave the oil in and just reapply after every shower? Would seem weird to apply more oil while the oil is still on, seems this stuff never sets in or dries up. What is the frequency of application supposed to be?
