How do I deal with nocebo effects of caffeine

Nocebo: Negative side effects that are not real (the opposite of placebo).

I get brainfogged, sluggish, and mentally sloshy on caffeine but I feel physical energy to just start doing things while on caffeine.

Today, I thought I drank the second half remainder of a canned mocha coffee drink and started doing things. I felt brainfogged, sluggish, and mentally sloshy, but without the benefits of physical energy to support what I was doing.

I later realized that I had just left this coffee on my desk, unopened, and untouched, which meant I *thought* I drank caffeine, *didn't* drink caffeine, *didn't get* the benefits of caffeine, but still got the negative side effects of caffeine which should not exist. This means I have a physical nocebo reaction to caffeine, and I was wondering how I could remedy this issue now that I know that this effect is not real.
