Spay story

This is our kitty Miss bootsie Bell.

She showed up at our door about 6 months ago howling and crying for food. She was extremely friendly and I figured she was lost or abandoned. We hunted around the apartment complex for a while looking for her previous owners. Nobody turned up.

I was able to get her shots updated but I ran into some financial troubles and wasn't able to get her spayed until this month. It's been a tough month keeping her confined in the apartment. She really likes to go outside and we've had to keep her in. Finally get to the appointment day to drop her off with the vet. I think all's going well. Well I got a call from the vet a couple hours later and they tell me when they start to shave her belly, she had already been spayed And microchipped from the pet rescue she came from.

My cat was listed as stolen. Now the pet rescue Is perfectly fine letting me take ownership of Bootsy Belle because clearly I didn't know she had been spayed and I was about to fork over $300. All I can think is amount of stress and how ridiculous that someone would steal a cat.
