Help with ram

Hi, I'm looking to upgrade my RAM in my PC but I've never looked into it before. iirc my current ram is 8gbs but the games i want to play need 16gbs or so. I'm a avid gamer that wants to play alot of newer rpg games, (until dawn, helldivers, last of us ect) but I've ran into the problem of my ram maxing out and causing fps drops or just straight up crashes.

So yea, recommendations on both gb level and brands would be helpful!
