[Spoilers C2E127] The way stealth missions always goes
First of all, let me start off by saying that I love Sam's sticking to his Anti-metagaming way of staying in character even when there's obvious danger coming their way in game. I hate him the moment he's making that decision, but I love it that he sticks to it afterwards.
To the topic.... Everyone making plans to be stealthy and shit while Caleb goes "I'll go off if I see any guards". I don't think the others caught that, which made it more interesting.
While it started very Jester-y way, I love how quickly it turned from Caleb to Bren the Scrounger. I love to imagine it as Caleb just walking down the hallway crushing and lightening the people up while Veth following closely behind freaking out and shooting the crushed guards to put them out of misery and Jester trying to hold it together.
Jester going "I'm really glad I'm the first one to come into this room. I like you" while silently sobbing is so fucking sad AND hilarious at the same time. Veth slowly realising that she's "travelling with a murderer" and quickly turning into one herself is also hilarious.
While this is all horrifying and stuff, it COULD NOT beat what transpired at the top of the tower with Beau. Her lining up the murder weapons behind the sleeping guard, waiting patiently for him to make a move, dumping ACID DOWN HIS THROAT the moment he shifted, held him down while he eroded (corroded?) from within, and snapping his neck is some next level brutality introduced to Critical Role.
I love how it played out to have one of the biggest cliffhanger in a long while. This is the fastest "Next" button click I've done in a while. I always thought Trent battle is going to be little bit later in the campaign, love to see the next 10 mins of the episode, it's possible that they either run away or get captured in that 10 mins.
Edit: Spoiler for the next episode - How does this keep getting worse??? As if it's not already stressful, even Matt got confused about how time in the fun ball works because it was that tense.
Edit 2: It gets even worse??????
