Really interested in the Data Engeering field. Planning on getting my BS in Comp Sci and some Microsoft Certs. An ideal path?

Hey whats up everyone?

As the title states, I am really interested in the Data Engeering field. I've had my interest in this role for a while, starting off with initial interest as a Data Analyst.

Earlier this month though, the more and more I kept reading about this role and what it entails, the further interested I became. I am currently a Category Analyst, which does not have a direct DE path.

I currently have the Comptia Data+ (for what it's worth) and plan on getting my BS in Comp Sci from WGU. I plan on transferring in half the coursework before I even get started due to an earlier bachelors degree so I should be done by June of next year, and also plan on getting the Microsoft DP-203 & DP-300 while in school.

I have been honing my SQL skills, as well as Python on the side so prepare me for that role. For my DEers does this seem like the right path to eventually become a Data Engineer?
