Hey Disc Golf Reddit, this is Nate Heinold, let's finally do this AMA!
Reddit fans, I wanted to come out here and do an AMA before we get started with another exciting season on the DGPT. My name's Nate Heinold and for those that don't know me, I am the CEO of Ledgestone Disc Golf. I have been playing disc golf for 26 years and founded the Ledgestone Open back in 2011. That event grew into the biggest event in disc golf and over the last several years disc golf has become my full time profession. In 2021 my team added the DGLO event in Southeast Michigan and last year we added the USADGC event. I am also the volunteer Chairperson of the PDGA Board of Directors and I am also the President of the Board of Directors for the Paul McBeth Foundation. My team runs several other smaller events each year and releases Ledgestone discs throughout the year to support the event through our Shop Ledgestone webstore. Our flagship Ledgestone event is not a "non profit" event, but we do support several non-profit organizations and have given $750,000 to charity since 2014, with the primary beneficiary being St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
I read a lot of what's on Reddit and am ready to set the record straight on several topics. How did I feel about the Simonline at DGLO on hole 16 in 2023? Feel free to ask me. How do I feel about Ledgestone running so many events? Feel free to ask. The main reason for me coming to Reddit is to be as transparent as possible. I want to clarify as much as I can and peel the curtain back as much as possible on anything disc golf that I can answer. Post your questions over the next few days and I will start answering your questions tomorrow!
Update 2/14/25 at 9:30PM: I will take another look tomorrow and give additional responses and answer questions where I can and then call it done. Thanks to everyone for the questions.
Update 2/17/25 at 8:30AM: Thanks for all of the questions! That will end this AMA, we will do it again sometime.
