Canada - Stock Market

While not American, I've been paying attention to the coup and rise of fascism down there. This post: https://www.reddit.com/r/law/s/Igf6iTk3w5 (I can't put the link on the words for some reason, sorry.) mentions "Stocks being subject to White House control."

My partner has a chunk of savings in Vanguard. I told him he should probably pull out before America's economic crisis affects us up here as well - he is not concerned.

Anybody more intelligent and well-versed in these matters than I care to chime in?
