The down fall of Azerbaijan
So before I got into Eurovision, I found Azerbaijan to be a staple in Eurovision. Winner in 2011, and consistent places in the final, only missing out on 2018. However, Since 2023, has anyone else been kind of underwhelmed by what they sent?
2023 was quite boring (my opinion) although quite soothing, which is NOT what you want to send in a televote only Semi Final
2024 had a similar vibe, only in Azerbaijani and used something in there culture for once ( mugham vocals) but fell into a very similar scenario to last year
So ESC and Azerbaijani fans, what is the cause? Is it song selection? They have the change to send Aisel again, but chose Fahree instead? Is it Diaspora? The weakest argument, but Armenia and Georgia do it, but could be attributed from the lack of Russia, Belarus and Turkey? Lack of interest? Budget? Tell me more...
