Can I get fired for buying rival's players?

I play my first ever save for Schalke 04 and I am looking for a world class midfielder right now. It's year 2030 and BVB captain Bellingham has 75m€ release clause and he is interested to join us.

But I have no clue how would the club, fans or locker room react because I have never bought a rival player. Could it cause some problems?
