Will a relocated mole find it's way back to our garden?

Sorry if that's the wrong subreddit. Yesterday I found our cat terrorizing a mole and it fled into our basement, I put it into a bucket and walked 200-300 meters to a nearby field and set it free. There's a road inbetween so I thought it's not gonna come back and cross that. But my dad (he absolutely hates mole hills in the garden) was not that happy because he said he'll probably find it's way back. What do you guys think? I'm in Europe/Austria if that matters.
