Advise please! My partner has been arrested and I have questions [NH]

This last Friday we had a difficult situation which let me to calling law enforcement. My partner ended up getting black out drunk and fighting with his son who is 13. Things progressed and he ended up grabbing me by the neck. I had 2 scared children here and had no choice but to call law enforcement. He was arrested and charged with 1 count misdemeanor criminal mischief 2 counts misdemeanor simple assault 1 count 2nd degree felony domestic violence

He is stating he isn't getting bail for the DV charge. I didn't press charges. The state is. They my be enforcing a no contact order that IDo NOT want or need. What will this process look like? Can he really not get bail? How long does the case pending before sentenced? Nobody seems to be able to answer my questions at the police department. I'm not sure what to do. This was ao out of character. And I know wrong. But how can a family heal and do therapy if we are forced apart. I'm not in danger.
