First job post-grad starts tomorrow, advice?
Hi all! Tomorrow I start my first RN job since graduating in May. I am super excited, I absolutely love the hospital, the unit, the nurse manager, the staff I was able to meet so far, but I'm really battling with nerves right now. I know orientation will be close enough to my senior capstone, but given I'm 10 months post-grad, I certainly feel rusty and don't want to make a fool out of myself. Any tips and tricks going forward to be successful? I already have been reviewing basic meds and things that I should know like the back of my hand, and plan on keeping a notepad with me to write down new things (given I have the time to do so), but what else can I do? I love asking questions and have always been praised for doing so, so that's not an issue. However, are there things you wish you did during orientation to be more well-rounded once you were on your own? Anything I should definitely have like a marker on my badge reel? All advice welcome, and thank you in advance!!!
