270° Awnings….are they worth it in the forest?

Road tripping 12K km’s for 3 months. Will be in Alberta and BC so rain+trees and lots of them. Seems like a good idea for ease of set up/take down, or so the videos online depict this. The downsides I can see are; lower gas mileage, potential for mold since i would be using it mostly for rainy situations and seems they damage easily.

My other options are tarps (PIA and not always available tie off points) or pop up gazebo (Gazelle G4)

If I was in the desert it would be a no brainer but I’m not so I’m on the fence if it would benefit my trip.
