You have to fit the job role 100% otherwise you won’t get through

I did an interview a few weeks back and I matched the job description 98%. I already had the knowledge and skills and experience.

During the interview, this was an entry-level/junior role where they said “they would provide training” so they don’t except me to know everything.

I told them my experience and the only thing I said was I haven’t learned how to use tools like hubspot or Mail chimp, but I have used google analytics. They would train me so it shouldn’t have been a problem.

They sent me a rejection email saying other candidates are more “aligned” for the role.

My CV and the job role were a good 98% match with the exclusion of using tools and software which I haven’t be able to learn.

I know for a fact if I mentioned I was familiar with all the tools mentioned I may have gotten through to the next interview.

My issue is for an entry level job role where they are saying “they will train” seems bs to me. Because they don’t want to train they want someone with knowledge and skills and it’s ridiculous passing it off as “entry-level”.
