Taekwondo has lost its purpose as a self Defence

I started a very long time ago... back then vests were just being introduced. We mostly fought without vests at our sports school. And it was wonderful. Why? Because it was still worth using your fist. Basically, it was like kyokushin. A good fist technique was still rewarded because I could knock out my opponent. What was then gradually introduced led to a sport that was safe, but unfortunately no longer had anything to do with self-defense. Every taekwondo athlete who has trained for a long time should be careful not to think that they can defend themselves. Someone who has trained boxing for 6 months will not give a dan holder a chance. I think that's a shame because self-defense is the be-all and end-all of any martial art.

Don't you feel the same?
