Growing more concerned about my tokay
Another post about my tokay girl. She has presented more confusing issues than any of my reptiles I’ve ever owned:( I’ve taken my tokay to the vet due to not only staying at the bottom of her cage, but also due to a small bump on her toe (which was circulation being cut off due to stuck shed as a result of humidity struggles). Idk if she’s been eating, and my guess is not. I changed her bulb to a lower wattage one as per recommendations from my previous post here, and the hottest spot in her cage (a bridge where she can bask) is 90 degrees now (wondering if I should shift to an even lower wattage bulb?) The lowest part of the cage is 75 degrees. Because she has stayed towards the bottom and literally not moved upwards (to my knowledge), I added a small heat mat to the back corner side of the cage, and interestingly she’s stayed next to it this whole time, and seems to prefer it. I asked the vet about parasites and she tested negative and the only poop I’ve seen which was a few days after I got her looked very normal with healthy urate (hard to find poop since after that I switched from paper towel to bioactive substrate, but I’m considering switching back simply because I want to track her poop and amount of food eaten) I’m just at a loss for what’s wrong :( she’s in a 36 inch tall enclosure, the humidity is being maintained muchhhh better towards the top as well as the bottom (around 60 for both), she has lots of foliage as well as around 15 sticks branches and bridges hidden amongst the foliage.
I’ve had issues since I got her and I’m just at a loss for this poor baby :( does she look emaciated in this video? Definitely seems to me more like wild caught weight rather than a captive bred, which the breeder told me she’s captive bred. Her coloring seems off but I’m wondering if she’s about to shed. I am weighing her weekly, she seems to be maintaining her weight but not growing either, which I feel like with the amount of crickets I’m giving (if she’s eating them) she should be growing in weight. I attached a photo of her enclosure as well at the end of the video of her for more context. I’m open to another vet visit but at this point I’m not sure what’s wrong! The vet said she seemed healthy aside from her stuck shed and issues with staying at the bottom (which the vet advised me to increase humidity at the top of the enclosure as it was very low compared to the top, I did, but still staying at the bottom).
