Visiting China Solo

Hii all! I’ve always wanted to visit China, and was considering visiting Shanghai from Hanoi upcoming beginning June for 3-4 nights either solo or with my 8 year old son. However, my family keeps telling me how dangerous it is and I should go elsewhere 😭I understand they’re saying that out of precaution but even my cousin that lives in Taiwan says they’re kidnapping people and taking them to Cambodia. My other cousin from Vietnam says people in China are poisoning food to harvest organs. I’m just lowkey so annoyed at them but at the same time I’m having second thoughts. Should I still go for 3-4 and Shanghai to try it out then venture to dif cities in China in a separate trip? Please let me know your thoughts! Thanks!
