Halil Helvacı, a sergeant in Ottoman Army fought in Gallipoli campaign, lost his trigger finger during combat, but didn't realize it until he told his fellow soldier that his rifle wasn't working, and the comrade replied "Man, there's nothing wrong with the rifle, your trigger finger is ripped off".
