But exactly what’s irresponsible is subjective, what irresponsible for one could be totally responsible for another. My husband often wants to get himself something just because i got it. Now you could tell maybe he already wanted to get it, BUT it happens every single time that i get myself something , he orders something of about the same value or much higher for himself and it annoys me that he got it just because i got something and not because it’s actually something he really wanted. One time i remember i got 2 sneakers a month, he went ahead and got 3 sneakers the very same week. I have recently decided to avoid buying polyester and synthetic materials and looking into natural materials and got myself a new wool coat. He decided that he now wants to get himself a Canada Goose 5x the price of my coat which is honestly not needed where we live. I cannot ofcourse stop him but find it immature and irresponsible. The fact that he constantly wants to up what i get is frustrating and i find it financially irresponsible. I have no problem if he just gets it because he wants and not because i got something.

Pretty sure she is still in for the money OP. She probably realised she can live an even more comfortable life by sticking with you. She’s just taking advantage of your niceness. If you were to have financial problems, she’d be out. She literally got married with the intention of divorce and alimony as you state, no way a heart that cold can change.
